Churches of Goa - The Churches of Goa form the better part of its heritage. Shravanabelagola is another great architectural feat featuring 57 ft monolithic statue of Bahubali Gomateshwara, a Jain saint. It is the world’s largest monolithic stone statue. Every twelve years, a grand ceremony called Mastakabhisheka takes place where thousands of devotees gather and worship the statue with milk, ghee, curd, red kumkum, saffron and gold coins. The next Mahamastakabhisheka will be held in 2018.
