The modest of flamboyancy nestled between the two mighty mountain ranges is rightly called Ladakh. The land of jagged mountains, quaint monasteries, serene lakes and golden sand dunes assemble to an impeccable heritage. Not to miss the Shikara ride for photography of the floating food markets, flower markets and the enchanting Mughal Gardens.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi by International Flight Meeting and assistance upon arrival at Delhi airport and transfer to hotel for check-in. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Day 2: Delhi – Leh by flight Upon arrival in Leh, rest and acclimatisation. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Leh to Hemis Monastery for the festival (48 km)
After breakfast, visit Hemis Monastery for the festival and upon return also visit more famous monasteries i.e. Shey and Thiksey. Overnight in Leh.
Day 4: Leh to Lamayuru (124 kms) The whole day is dedicated for the local sightseeing in Lamayuru. After exploring villages around the area, return to Leh enroute visiting Alchi and Rizong monasteries. Overnight in Leh.
Day 5: Leh Full day to explore Leh Bazaar, Tibetan Refugee Camp, Leh Palace and Sankar Gompa. Overnight in Leh.
Day 6: Leh – Kargil Morning leave Leh for Kargil (Approx. 7 hours drive) through panoramic villages and reach Sonmarg which is 2,700 meters high in time for lunch. Along the way we will stop at ethnic Pushtan villages (Afghani Tribe) to photograph. Overnight in Kargil.
Day 7: Kargil Dha Hanu Kargil We will have a full day photo shoot in the villages of Dha and Hanna. Overnight in Kargil.
Day 8: Kargil – Srinagar Morning drive to Srinagar. Upon arrival check-in at Deluxe Houseboat. Afternoon city sightseeing. Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 9: Srinagar
Early morning enjoy Shikara ride for photography of the floating food markets, flower markets and small boats coming to do commerce.
Afternoon shoot the old city of Srinagar. Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 10: Srinagar Morning visit to Mughal Gardens. Afternoon drive to Taelbal which is 17 kms from Srinagar for photography the villagers. Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 11: Srinagar Arts and crafts are an integral part of life in Kashmir. We will photograph the shawl-makers, carpet and cloth weavers , potters and calligraphers. In downtown Srinagar where many craftsmen live, we will photograph Kashmiris hunched over hookahs or Kangri. We will shoot them as they are engaged in tracing or hand paintings birds, fruits, flowers and tree branches. Overnight at Deluxe Houseboat.
Day 12: Srinagar – Aru
After breakfast check out from houseboat and proceed to Aru (Approx. 107 Kms) via Pahalgam (11 Km).
In Aru, the most beautiful part lies with the small village houses made of wood and stone. Aru is the perfect destination to take a break form the pollution, dust and stress of city life at an altitude of 2708 metres. Overnight in Aru.
Day 13: Aru Full day photography tour in Aru.
Day 14: Aru - Srinagar Airport
Srinagar – Delhi (By flight) & Departure
After breakfast proceed to Srinagar airport to take a flight for Delhi and tour ends at Delhi airport. Upon arrival at Delhi airport, remain in the transit area to board onward International flight.
