Best of West and Central India Tour is a great way to explore the undulated heritage of India resting in its monuments, temples, forts and caves. Beginning from the glimpses of the Mumbai’s colonial heritage; the tour enters the caves of Ajanta and Ellora, the world heritage sites belonging to the ancient era. The next installment of this tour takes a traveler in the central territory of Madhya Pradesh through a visit in the world heritage sites of Sanchi and Khajuraho Temples. The tour then turns towards Varanasi where sacred verses are recited on the famous ghats of River Ganges. Towards the end of this 10 day tour, a traveler gets a chance to come closer to the monument of love, Taj Mahal and the lavish luxury of royal Rajasthan in Jaipur.
Day 01. Arrive Mumbai

Day 02. Mumbai -Aurangabad
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Mumbai with a visit to the Prince of Wales Museum, better known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya. This Indo-Saracenic architectural building ranks amongst the city’s most distinguished Raj-era construction. Continue the Mumbai city tour with a visit to Hanging Garden and Gateway of India. The Gateway of India in Mumbai is the signature mark of Mumbai. In the afternoon, transfer to the railway station and board connecting train for Aurangabad, the gateway city for Ajanta and Ellora Caves. Upon arrival at Aurangabad, transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 03. Aurangabad - Bhusaval - Bhopal
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Ellora. This is a world heritage site known for its cave temples dedicated to Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. Next visit the ancient caves of Ajanta, also renowned as the world heritage sites. In the evening, check out Aurangabad and continue the drive to Bhusaval. From here, tourists will board a train to Bhopal. Upon arrival in Bhopal, transfer to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 04. Bhopal - Jhansi- Orchha
After breakfast at the hotel, begin an excursion to Sanchi. This is a world heritage site based on Buddhist stupa ruins, temples and monasteries that lie scattered across the hill. After the visit to this heritage wonder is complete, check out Bhopal to board connect Shatabdi Express train to Jhansi. On arrival, drive to Orchha and check in the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05. Orchha - Khajuraho
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Orchha. This tainted town of Bundela Rajputs is an architectural gem featuring temple, fort, palace and cenotaphs or domed chhatris, rising from the surrounding forested area. After the excursion is done, continue towards the world heritage site of Khajuraho via surface. Upon arrival, check in the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 06. Khajuraho - Varanasi
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Khajuraho Temples. The Group of Temples at Khajuraho is an ode to desires in an artistic and poetic way. Often referred to as the Kamasutra Temples of India, these are considered the most graphic, erotic and sensuous temples the world has ever seen. It’s the wide mind approach at Khajuraho that invites the world to look over the temples with awe and wonder. The temples are divided into three parts - Western Group of Temples, Southern and Eastern group of temples. After the morning walking tour through the Khajuraho Temples, check out the location and transfer to the airport for connecting flight to Varanasi.
In the afternoon, transfer to the airport and board the connecting flight for Varanasi. Upon arrival, check into the hotel for overnight stay. Evening is free for shopping.
Day 07. Varanasi - Agra
Early morning, begin a boat ride in the holy “Ganges”. On return, enjoy the breakfast at the hotel. Thereon, begin sightseeing of Sarnath. This is a major site of Buddhist pilgrimage where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon. Post sightseeing return to Varanasi and check out the city of lights to board the train for Agra. Overnight onboard.
Day 08. Agra
Arrive Agra in the morning and upon arrival, transfer and check in the hotel. Post breakfast session, begin the Agra city tour with a visit to Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Both of them are scintillating world heritage sites displaying the Mughal nuances of art and architecture.
Taj Mahal, the most recognized Indian monument worldwide is an inspiration for every visitor. Some address it as the finest expression of love; some call it a tear drop on the cheek of time, and some fall short of metaphors.
Such is the emotional trance of Taj Mahal that it softens the heart of every traveller. After visiting the monument along the banks of River Yamuna, venture towards Agra Fort. Built in red sandstone by Emperor Akbar in 1565 AD, this fort is a marvellous Mughal masterpiece in terms of design and construction. Return to the hotel after city tour for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 09. Agra - Jaipur
After breakfast, check out Agra for a drive to Jaipur. Enroute visit another world heritage site of Fatehpur Sikri. This was once a glorious Mughal capital that got abandoned due to lack of water supply. But that abandonment didn’t wither the city known for its mosque, dargah, palatial buildings and royal chambers. Post sightseeing; continue the journey by surface to Jaipur.
Upon arrival here, check in the hotel and begin the Jaipur city tour with a visit to the city’s landmarks. Visit Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, City Palace, Jantar Mantar. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 10. Jaipur - Delhi Depart
After breakfast at hotel, begin an early morning excursion towards Amber Fort. This last monument in the series is known as the Architectural Jewel of Jaipur. Perched atop the hill, this is one of the six hill top forts of Rajasthan to be recognized as a world heritage site. Post the excursion, bid adieu to Jaipur via a road journey. Upon arrival in Delhi, in time transfer to the airport to board the connecting flight towards the onward journey.
